who is

CARLA DI BONITO

Born in Fortaleza and based in the United Kingdom for over 30 years, where she worked as a journalist at the BBC, Carla graduated in Journalism in Italy and in Film at London South Bank University in London, where she specialised in Screenwriting, Production and Directing at the age of 56. With a career marked by courage and resilience, Carla gained a foothold in the international market with her first short film, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which premiered at the Montecatini Terme International Film Festival in Italy in 2006 and was screened at the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival in the same year.

She consolidated her position in the audiovisual market with her second short film, Luzinete — inspired by the death of her sister from an overdose — achieving international recognition by receiving more than 220 awards and travelling to 44 countries.

She is currently dedicated to the production of two new original projects: the feature film Nossos Caminhos, whose script has so far received more than 100 international awards, and Connor and Sonia. In addition to Italy, where Di Bonito also voluntarily worked for Radio Vaticana, she also lived in Switzerland, Germany and Norway before returning to London in 1995, where she settled. She was also a student at the EICTV – Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba

Her works Luzinete and Nossos Caminhos have already been featured in the world's most important entertainment magazines, such as The Hollywood Reporter and Variety.

Director / Writer / Producer

Mari Tomazoni

Executive Producer

    Marione Tomazoni is a journalist with an MBA in Marketing from FGV and founder of TZM Comunicação. With over 20 years of experience, she connects culture and audiences through communication strategies that have boosted more than 57 launches, including films, shows, exhibitions, and events. She has worked with brands such as Cinépolis, Paris Filmes, and Time For Fun, and has participated in major cultural milestones, such as the São Paulo International Film Festival and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Her career is marked by the creation of cultural experiences that leave a legacy.
Renata Grangeiro

Executive Producer / Director Assistant

    Executive Producer and Personal Assistant to Director Carla Di Bonito. Renata has extensive experience with national and international funding calls. She is also a Commercial Consultant and Press Officer for fashion designer Ivanildo Nunes.
Carl Rasmussen

Director of Photography

    Carl has been photographing for as long as he can remember, and even though he now works as a cinema photographer he also loves to take still images and with long art school background in sculpture. Art is always nearby. Before taking the step to become DoP, he built his career by assisting several of the absolute most credited DoP's, his CV comprises both feature films, TV-series and commercials on a higher level. Due to his youth this experience already makes him a well acknowledged and reputable photographer within filmmaking having worked with film directors such as the Danish Lars Von Trier.
Adriana Ellacott

Assistant Producer

    Adriana is a Brazilian/British Assistant Producer at Boto Films and has a vast background in budget management with the British government. She was one of the Executive Producers of the award-winning short film Luzinete (2021).
